My passion is painting living creatures of any sort. I have painted all kinds - from rats to elephants, from halibut to orcas, from hummingbirds to eagles. I take all my own photos and when an animal looks directly at me or I have some other kind of interaction, I have to paint it. It doesn't matter if I am the only one who will appreciate a particular animal, I paint it if I feel connected.
I find them in all sorts of places but mostly in zoos and aquariums from Maine to Florida. I appreciate the fact that I can see them in these places. If not for the zoos, I would not see them and probably not care for their overall survival on the planet. I have done a series in excess of 40 paintings with "Endangered" as the theme.
