Ann Dalton

An extremely versatile artist, Ann paints portraits and landscapes, but wildlife is her passion. Her work has received numerous awards over the years. Every one of her oil paintings is based on her own photographs taken while spending hours with the animals. This makes her art notable for realism and capturing animals’ feelings, especially as expressed in their eyes and face. Recently she has painted a series of more than thirty endangered species.

Ann’s art is sold here in Busch Gardens, where she has painted many of the animals in the park, and has also been sold at the Smithsonian in Washington, Disney in Orlando, the Florida State Fair, and at many street fairs in Maine, New York, DC and Florida. In summer months, she owns a gallery in the seacoast she sells landscape paintings of the Maine Coast and New England.

Ann has a BFA from Pratt Institute in New York, graduating first in her class, and a BA in Art History from Columbia University in New York City on total scholarship. She also studied at the Art Students League in New York City and with nationally famous portrait painter Daniel Greene. For many years, she freelanced in New York City doing art for publishers like Simon & Schuster, Bantam Books and Prentice Hall. She also owned a graphic design business supplying design and art for major corporations like IBM, AT&T, Nynex.
